Autocomplete in Opera 9.63 (or rather, the lack thereof!)
I just spent about an hour trying to figure out how to enable autocomplete in Opera.
In case you’re wondering, autocomplete is the feature that remembers values you previously entered into text fields and displays them in a drop down list when you start typing in a text field. E.g. previous search phrases you entered when searching Google.
To my surprise it finally dawned on me:
Opera does not have autocomplete!!
The closest thing it offers is the ability to enter a few personal values under Tools -> Preferences -> Wand, which will be displayed in a drop-down list, for all text fields.
I find this almost unbelievable.
How is it possible that an otherwise superb and feature rich browser does not have this simple and incredibly useful feature, which is available in all the other major browsers?

The most idiotic (forgive me i can’t find any other word) design choice in the world;
it is not that opera can’t put auto-complete into the browser, they choose not to do so. It is not that they cannot put the feature and an option in settings to turn it on or off; they choose not to do so. And they say that this is a feature of opera not a lack!!
So keep using firefox. I am writing this comment and turning bakc to Firefox after 3 days.

This is totally unbelievable. I switched to Opera 30 minutes ago, I’m loving it, and I spent about 20 minutes trying to figure out how to enable the autocomplete. Now you say we CAN’T. I can’t believe it. Isn’t there some plugin or any stuff like that to do the job?

@Rodrigo
Not as far as I know.
But if it’s possible somehow, please tell me how!

Yes it’s too shame that Opera doesn’t have the field autocomplete option included… I’ll try to stick for a while with this browser … after using Firefox for a long period … but if I can’t handle it… Sorry Opera and Welcome Firefox -_-’

Opera, please give us autocomplete. It’s like the difference between being able to press Ctrl+V to paste and having to type “Ctrl+V” every time you want to paste something. It’s frustrating, and runs entirely counter to the whole philosophy of “speed.”

Used Opera back in the early 2000′s. Thought I’d give it another try 10 years later. Love it, but uninstalling because of no auto complete. It’s unbelievable this is not part of an otherwise great browser.
